PDP postpones Edo governorship primaries in anticipation of Obaseki’s entrance

Nigeria’s opposition party, the People’s Democratic has postponed it’s Edo State Governorship primaries that was scheduled to hold on the 19th and 20th of June to 23th of June.

The party in a statement released to the public on Thursday afternoon said, “The NWC of PDP has postponed the Edo state governorship primary election earlier scheduled for Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20, 2020 to a new date of Tuesday, June 23, 2020.”

“This decision is predicated on exigencies of party activities,” it said.

Vista.ng had reported that there was an all-night meeting between the party and the embattled Governor Godwin Obaseki of the state on Wednesday night.
