Lawyer to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Aloy Ejimakor has cried out over death threats he has been receiving from members of IPOB following the cancellation of Sit-at-home which was earlier ordered by the leadership of the group.
Barrister Aloy who said that he will not keep quiet over the threats explained that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu did not pass the message of cancellation of Sit-at-home through him.
According the statement he released on Monday through his Twitter handle, it reads: “I can no longer keep quiet because I’m receiving DEATH THREATS from people I’ve been defending for years.”
Hear this: Onyendu DID NOT pass the SIT AT HOME message through me. The message was already delivered by others days before I visited him on 9th August. Check social media
,” he said.
Weeks after cancellation of the Sit-at-home order by IPOB leadership, there has been continued compliance with the order as most cities in the southeast Nigeria remain ghost cities on Mondays.
Many argue that the continued compliance to the Sit-at-home order is motivated by fear while others argue that it as a result of love for the leader of the group who is still in detention at the instance of Nigeria’s federal government.
There are opinions from other quarters that the continued compliance to the already cancelled Sit-at-home order is an evidence that the group has lost control and have entered an auto pilot mode.
