The President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Dr Nnia Nwodo has told the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) that they cannot be “more Biafra” than he is.
Dr Nwodo made this comment during an Urban Radio program ‘Urban Palliament’ Tuesday morning.
While answering a question posed to him by an ardent IPOB supporter Emmanuel, Nwodo lamented the fact that IPOB are peddling fake news and false accusations against him.
He went went ahead to say that he has no issues with the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, but noted that he disagree with his method. He said: “I love Kanu’s courage, I only question his method”.
Dr Nwodo reminded the group of the speeches he made in fora like the one at Chattam House, London, where he spoke against the activities of “Fulani herdsmen” whom he tagged terrorists and criticised the Nigerian Government for unjustly prohibiting a harmless group like the IPOB.
Nwodo disclosed that he has been receiving constant threats from the supporters of group, citing an instance the authors of such threats went as far as saying that they will kill his son.
Recall that IPOB and Dr Nwodo have been having a running battle since the the Nigerian Army held its “Operation Python Dance” in the Southeast. The group has consistently accused Ohaneze Ndigbo and it’s leadership of tacitly supporting the move by the Nigerian Government.
