Twitter founder, Jack Dorsey commits quarter of his wealth to COVID-19 fight

Twitter founder Jack Dorsey has announced that he is moving 28% of his wealth which amounts 1 billion dollars into Start small LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief.

Dorsey further stated that when the pandemic is over, he will focus on the education and health of the girl child.

In the statement he released on his twitter handle he said:

“I’m moving $1B of my Square equity (~28% of my wealth) to #startsmall LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief. After we disarm this pandemic, the focus will shift to girl’s health and education, and UBI. It will operate transparently….”

Reacting to this development, Nigeria’s former minister for Finance, Dr Ngozi Oknjo-Iwuala commended Dorsey for such timely contribution.

“Congratulations! @Jack for devoting $1 billion a quarter of your wealth to fighting #coronavirus and supporting girls and women’s health! What a wonderful and timely contribution!” the former minister wrote.
