The son of the Kaduna State Governor, Bello El-Rufai has expressed his frustration in the way the All Progressive Congress (APC) lost 6 states to the opposition in less than 6 years.
He voiced his frustration shortly after the National Executive Council (NEC), dissolved the Victor Giadom led National Working Committee (NWC)on Thursday afternoon.
According to Bello, “I am registered APC member. Like in Edo, I’d rather remain silent than speculate without first hand information. Party discipline is key, but so is justice. From 24 states to 19, then 18 is an issue. Sadly, too soon for this mess. Governance should be the focus not politics.”
There has been reported cold war between the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam El-Rufai and the former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is widely recognized as National Leader of the party.
Party source disclosed that the Giadom faction which seems to have the endorsement of the President were backed by Mallam El-Rufai,his ally, Rotimi Amechi and other confidants of the President.
Recall that in May 2019, the Kaduna State Governor spoke in Ikoyi, Lagos, at an event organised by the Bridge Club tagged, “An evening with His Excellency Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State.”
El-Rufai had said that he defeated and retired four political godfathers in Kaduna State, arguing that same feat could be replicated anywhere, including Lagos State.
