A soldier has lost one of his eyes while trying to enforce presidential directive on restriction of movement.
The victim, Alex Niwanyine of 71st Battalion, lost his sight in violence that erupted while he was trying to enforce presidential lockdown in Bibia Town Council in Western Uganda.
This was revealed by the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) spokesman Brigadier Richard Karemire in an official tweet late Sunday. He said that “the soldier was violently attacked in Bibia as he enforced directive to prevent COVID-19”. He warned that violent against law enforcement agents must be put to a stop in the country.
