There are more shocking revelation at the ongoing House of Representatives probe of financial irregularities in the affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
After the drama that ensured with the slumping of the Acting Managing Director of the Commission, Kemebradikuno Pondei, the Minister of Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio took to the stage.
While speaking on oath, the minister revealed that sixty percent of the contracts awarded since the inception of the Commission were given to the members of the National Assembly.
“In the 19 years of the NDDC you cannot find a10km of dualized road.
“I have records to show that most of the contracts of NDDC are given to members of the National Assembly, you may not know,” Akpabio said.
This has now brought a new dimension to the financial scandal rocking the commission after President Buhari ordered a forensic audit of the commission’s financial records.
