The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Services, Muhammed Babandede has urged members of the public to report any Immigration personnel who demands money for recruitment, other services to law enforcement agencies.
CG Babandede, in a statement through his Twitter handle earlier today, asked members of the public to name and shame officers going contrary to the ethics of the profession.
According to him, “This is my private Twitter account, please report to the nearest law enforcement/security agency anyone who make monetary or any other demand for recruitment or any service from Nigeria Immigration Service. Please name and shame criminals.”
Nigeria Immigration Services has been one the Federal agencies innaundated with myriads of cases of extortion and fraud associated with recruitment exercises.
Recall the 2014 Nigeria Immigration Recruitment Tragedy that occurred where N1000 was collected from about 6.5 million people in all 37 states of Nigeria (including the FCT) who stormed various recruitment centers in the country for the 4000 vacant positions in the Nigeria Immigration Service.
