Rape in the Cathedral: Nigerians demand justice for Uwa

Nigerians have taken to social media to demand justice for the young lady who was allegedly raped and murdered by unknown men in the premises of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Edo Provincece.

The twenty-three old lady identified as Uwaila Omozuwa died in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) after she was raped and murdered in her local church by unknown men.

It was gathered that Miss Uwa was a 100 level Microbiology student of UNIBEN who goes to the local church on daily basis to read.

According to a source, the security officer of the church which is located at Ikpoba hill Benin, had gone to collect the key to the church from the keeper only to be told that someone was in it already.

He got into the church and saw Miss Uwa in the pool of her own blood, with the fire extinguisher which was used to brutalize her face next to her

In confusion, the security officer ran back to the key keeper who came back with his wife to the scene of the murder only to notice that the victim had some life in her. She was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital where she revealed that unknown men invaded the church where she was reading, beat her with fire extinguisher. She passed on thereafter on Wednesday 27th May.

Since her passing, Nigerians have taken to social media to demand for justice with hashtag on Twitter #JusticeforUwa.

At the time of writing this report, the hashtag has recorded over 60,000 tweets from outraged Nigerians.
