Socio – Economic Rights And Accountability Project (SERAP) has asked the Federal Government to publish the names of people from whom it recovered the stolen N800 billion from.
The body said this in a statement it released to the press Sunday morning.
It argued, in the FoI request it sent to the government on Saturday that the publication of the details regarding the recovered money and suspicious payments into individual accounts would serve the public interest as well as align with fundamental principles of due process.
“We’ve asked President Buhari to direct AGF & Finance Minister to publish the list of names of people from whom N800bn in looted funds have been recovered, details of spending, etc. We also asked him to probe alleged payments of N51bn into individual accounts in 2019.
“Publishing the details regarding the N800bn recovered loot & investigating the alleged suspicious payments into individual accounts would serve the public interest & be consistent with fundamental principles of due process & Nigeria’s commitment,” it said.
