The Edo State Police Command has announced the death of an inspector,Felix Egbon who was killed on Friday by gangsters while enforcing the dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed by the State Government to help curb the spread of the corona virus.
The State Police Public Relations Officer , Chidi Nwabuzor said the deceased and his patrol team from the Auchi Divisional Police Headquarters were ambushed at Iyetse Quarters Auchi guns and other dangerous weapons.
The late police inspector was reported to have been shot at the neck and was immediately rushed to the General Hospital,Auchi. He was, thereafter confirmed dead.
This killing adds to the growing tally of deaths that are related to mutual violence between law enforcement agents and the citizenry since the restrictions of movements occasioned by the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.
