ODUDUWA REPUBLIC: Respect is reciprocal, group fires back at Yoruba elders

The agitators for Oduduwa Republic have warned Yoruba elders who are “clog in the wheel of their progress” that they risk loosing the group’s respect if they continue with the media war.

In a statement on its Twitter handle signed by Kola Agbaekun, the group said that some elders are 10 year old in a 70 man’s body.

According to the group, “the Yorubas must realize that respect is reciprocal. People should not be respected just for their age. There are many 10 years old boys in the body of a 70 years old men.”

Secretary-General of the Yoruba Council of Elders, Dr Kunle Olajide, had opined thst it is unrealistic for the Oduduwa Republic to be achieved without violence.

Olajide made the statement while reacting to comments by Professor Banji Akintoye that the Oduduwa Republic would be created without bloodshed.

He went further to state that consensus has never been reached as regards a creation of a new country from Yoruba nation.

But agitators for the new country had described the position of Yoruba elders as one borne out of selfish interest.

“Any one who does not respect your freedom, peace, security and progress as a human being for his selfish motive is not a respectable elder but an enemy that must be dealt with,” the group concluded.
