Nigeria’s Civic Tech Organization, BudgIT has revealed that Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has spent over 648 billion naira in the maintenance of its oil pipelines in 5 years.
The Tech organization while making this disclosure on Wednesday stated that 13 years Federal Government allocation did not match what NNPC had spent for pipelines maintenance within the said period.
“NNPCgroup has spent a total of N648.82BN on pipeline maintenance in 5.5years

“This is more than the capital allocation to the Health Sector (N617.56BN) in 13years
“Pipeline vandalism is bleeding the country dry.
“This is preposterous,” it said.
There opinions in some quarters that the NNPC which is the cash cow of the nation is also the country’s nest of corruption.
