Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Engineer Sale Mamman, has hinted that better days are close in the country’s power sector.
In a statement made available through his verified Twitter handle, the minister said that what the Buhari administration is doing in power sector is a proof that epileptic power supply that has bedeviled the sector will soon be a thing of the past.
“In the near future, we Nigerians will be able to look back with pride and say the administration of President @MBuhari fixed & transformed the Power sector.
We are on the right track, Engineer Sale said.
In a swift response, a Twitter user known as Ahmed Shehu Ph.D, countered the minister and advised him not use taxpayers money in tweeting what he viewed as unrealistic claims.
Shehu’s tweet reads: “Stop the talking and do the work, Mr. Minister. You’re not an ordinary citizen and shouldn’t therefore spend the data taxpayers bought for you in ranting and unrealistic praise singing.”
Engineer Mamman, however, insisted that the Buhari administration has recorded significant progress in power sector.
“Thank you Dr. Ahmad, a simple tweet does not mean the work we are doing is on hold. We have recorded significant progress and we have also used this medium to keep Nigerians informed. I wish you the very best in your endeavors. Good Morning and a bit of civility does not hurt,” the Minister said.
