Nigerian music star, Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley has mocked Nigerians for not having the courage to hit the streets and protest against government’s harsh economic policies or injustices, but instead chose to only indulge in social media criticisms.
Marley made his dissatisfaction known in a statement released through his verified Twitter handle on Saturday night.
“In this country We love protesting on twitter. That’s d problem,” he said.
Naira Marley was reacting to the October 1st “Revolution Now” protest called by the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, which just a handful of individuals were seen on the streets protesting.
Sowore and other activists like Deji Adeyanju, and Henry Shield had called a protest against what they perceived as President Buhari’s bad economic policies, but was greeted with apathy, yet many Nigerian youths took to social media on the said day ro criticize the same government.
