Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Taiwo Adisa had on Monday announced the discharge of the state’s index case.
“The index case had been on self-isolation at a private residence in Ibadan until he was transferred to the Isolation Centre on March 23. The index case was released after two consecutive negative tests,” Adisa was quoted as saying.
In a related development, the Ekiti State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Moji Yaya-Kolade has announced the recovery and discharge of the state’s index case Tuesday afternoon.
“We have tested him twice and the results were negative. He is doing fine and all tests carried out show that his organs are also functioning well. So, we are happy to discharge him. We shall still keep monitoring him from his base and we also appeal to members of the public to call the emergency numbers to report any suspected case, so we can take action in a timely manner. It was the timely intervention that saved our index case,” Yaya-Kolade said.
This therefore brings to the total recovery recorded in the fight against coronavirus to 10. The country has also recorded 2 deaths so far.
