Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has claimed he still maintains a close relationship with President Buhari despite dumping the latter’s All Progressives Congress (APC) to pursue his second term dream with the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Obaseki, after a virtual meeting with the President, said the his relationship with the country’s number one man is like that of father and son
Obaseki said he held a virtual meeting with the President to discuss issues bordering on the welfare of the Edo people as well as measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic in the state.
“I was on a zoom meeting with the president, during which we engaged on development issues affecting Edo people and Nigerians. We also discussed measures to manage the spread of #COVID19,” he said.
Obaseki lost out in a power play with the former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole who was positively disposed to ensuring Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu was handed the party’s ticket for the forthcoming governiship elections.
