The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, have announced that banks will run skeletal services during the lockdown on Lagos, Ogun and Abuja.
In a joint statement, Ahmed and Emefiele stated has approved the exemption of banks in the shutdown order issued to the two states and FCT.
The statement instructed banks to ensure that their Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and other online services remain operational during the lockdown.

Part of the joint statement reads:
“We are mindful of the difficulties these restrictions would bring on ordinary Nigerians and are grateful to the president for approving these exemptions, which should help ease some of these burdens.”
