Kwara governor donates 100% of salary since swearing-in to fight coronavirus.

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has donated 100% of his salaries since he was sworn in on the 29th of May, 2019 to the fight against coronavirus.

This was made known in a statement issued on behalf of the governor by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.

The statement quoted the governor as saying,

“This time calls for sacrifice from everyone as humanity needs all the help it can get. For this reason, I am hereby donating 100 percent of my monthly salary since May 29, 2019, when I was sworn in, to our efforts to prevent this virus from getting to us; provide palliatives to our people as well as boost our capacity to cope if it ever comes here.”

Kwara is yet to record a case of coranvirus as at this moment. The update by NCDC late last night shows that the numbers are beginning to spike as the country now have triple digit after constant rise in the cases recorded in the past two weeks.
