Kastina State Governmnet has commenced door-to-door search for residents and visitors from Lagos State in the bid to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Hadi Mohamed Serika, on Tuesday, told the media that the house to house search for returnees became necessary because some of the returnees avoided screening at the border.
Hadi revealed that the state’s committee on COVID-19 has been receiving calls from members of the public reporting people suspected to be living with the virus. He said the committee is liaising with the Technical and Emergency response committee to ensure that such people are identified, isolated and their samples taken for testing.
Lagos remains the epicentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria and currently has 109 active cases of the virus.
