JUDGMENT DAY: Tension in political camps as Supreme Court rules on Zamfara

 

After few days of mind games and media wars by both parties, the Supreme Court is now set to rule on the matter brought before it by the All Progressive Congress seeking a review of its earlier decision on the last general elections which was resolved in the favour of the People’s Democratic Party.

The ruling All Progressive Congress had approached the apex court, asking it to review its earlier judgment which sacked all the elected office holders in the state over the party’s inability to conduct primary elections in line with the electoral act.

After listening to the counsels to the parties on March 17, a five-man panel of the court, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria be(CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad, is now billed to rule on the matter today.

The APC had earlier in the week warned the PDP to stop blackmailing the apex court after the latter was quoted in the media as threatening to as for the review of all the Supreme Court judgments that have gone against it.
