Okeke, who was once named in the Forbes list of Under 30 Africans, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for Computer-base wire crime in 2019

After initially maintaining his Innocence, Okeke finally admitted to the charges, a move which legal experts say is geared towards getting him a lighter jail sentence.

Premium Times quoted the pokesperson for the United States District Court for Eastern District of Virginia, Joshua Stueve asking that Obi could spend 20 years in an American prison in a sentencing that is due on October 22, 2020.

“A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors,” Stueve was quoted as having said.
