INSECURITY: Senate President warns Service Chiefs to “sit up” or face sack

The President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Lawan has threatened that the government will relieve any service chief that fails to perform “will be shown the way out”.

Senator Lawan issued this threat after a closed-door meeting with President Buhari on Sunday.

He said he has agreed with the president to set a milestones and timelines on how we are going to deal with insecurity, insisting that the resolution to the country’s security challenges will no longer be indefinite.

“The Service Chiefs must sit up. We must have milestones & timelines on how we are going to deal with insecurity.

“No more indefinition. If anyone falls short, he will be shown the way out, if he refuses to go,” Lawan warned.

Lawan’s comment is coming few days after President Buhari expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of the service chiefs and the excalation of insecurity in the country.
