The People’s Democratic Party Candidate at the last Kogi gubernatorial election, Engr. Musa Wada is confident that he will get favourable judgement at the Appeal Court level after the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal dismissed his petition on Saturday.
Wada, reacting to the judgement, stated that he is gallant in defeat and commended the minority judgement which nullified the election in seven Local Government Areas.
He admonished his supporters to be happy that the minority judgement restated their mandate, saying that this will pave way for a victory at the higher court.
The Election Petition Tribunal which sat in Abuja had on Saturday, in a split decision, dismissed Wada’s petition for lack of merit. The Tribunal ruled that the petitioner was not able to prove the allegations of substantial non compliance of the process to the electoral act.
However, in a contradictory ruling, the minority judgement ruled that Wada was able to prove his case and ordered fresh elections in seven LGA where the process was said to have been marred by violence and high level of malpractices.
