Nigeria’s President Buhari has described his close confidant, Mallam Isma’illa Funtua a piler of his administration whose death is a loss to the country.
President Buhari in a condolence letter personally signed by him, told the family that the loss is not theirs alone but the entire country’s.
In the letter which was written in Hausa, the President said that Nigerians in all shades of lives have nothing but kind words for the late businessman whom he remembers for his generosity.
Funtua who died after a brief illness in Abuja was seen by Nigerians as the power behind the throne and a major member of the ‘cabal’ running Buhari’s government.
Funtua is a second close confidant of the President who has died after the death of former Chief of staff to the President, Abba Kyiari who lost his life to coronavirus.
