A one-time US Republican Presidential candidate, Herman Cain, has died of COVID-19.
Cain, former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza and conservative Black voice in American politics was diagnosed with the disease in late June after attending a Tulsa, Oklahoma, political rally for President Donald Trump, an event where many attendees crowded close together without wearing face masks.

“You’re never ready for the kind of news we are grappling with this morning.
“Herman Cain — our boss, our friend, like a father to so many of us — has passed away,” Dan Calabrese, the editor of Cain’s website, wrote in a statement.
Cain was admitted to hospital and diagnosed of coronavirus on 1 July after appearing at a rally held by the president in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on 20 June.
