The Director of the Natural Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr Chikwe Ihekwuazu has warned that the federal government may order fresh lockdown of the country if the attitudes of Nigerians towards complying social distancing and other guidelines do not change.
Dr Iheakwuazu made this declaration in the Monday media briefed of Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
The NCDC boss also frowned on the attitude of commercial banks who did not help the situation on the first post-lockdown day by opening few branches. This he said contributed to the crowding of bank premises.
Nigeria, Monday, lifted the five weeks lockdown of its commercial nerve, Lagos, its neighbour, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
