The wave of defection that has characterised Governor Godwin Obaseki’s preparation for the forthcoming Edo gubernatorial elections is showing no sign of abating.
Few days after the recently-impeached Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly led for lawmakers to declare support for Ize-Iyamu, the Senior Special Assistant on Gender, Agatha Ono, has followed suit.
Ono said she made up her mind to stick with the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Ize-Iyamu against following the governor to the People’s Democratic Party.
Her letter of resignation reads:
“After a wide consultation with my supporters, I hereby write to inform you of my decision to resign my appointment as a senior special assistant to the governor
“This is coming as a result of my loyalty to party All Progressives Congress (APC) through which I got the appointment. My party interest is greater than my personal interest.
“”I want to use this opportunity to thank Mr. Governor Godwin Obaseki for the privilege to serve in his administration.”
