Court orders Atiku to pay trader N5m for unauthorized use of photograph for campaign

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar and the Director-General of his campaign, Bukola Saraki have been ordered to pay the sum of N5 million as damages to a trader for unauthorized use of her photograph during campaign.

The trader, who goes by the names Amuda Adeleke, filed a lsuit against the Atiku campaign organization after her photograph was used without her permission for a campaign billboard advert.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Ayokunle Faji, found merit in trader’s plea and ordered that the defendant (Atiku, Saraki, the PDP and Peter Obi) jointly pay the sum of N5m as damages.

Reacting to this judgement through her Twitter handle, a Presidential Aide, Lauretta Onochie hailed the judgment stating that PDP got what it deserved.

“More please. Its colossal damage to be on PDP billboard” Onochie tweeted.
