Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has finally made good his threat to release the list of National Assembly who benefitted from Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) contracts.
On top of the list is former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on the NDDC, Mr Nicholas Mutu, who represents the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency of Delta State.
Mutu was said to have benefitted from 74 contracts, including various emergency road projects in Delta, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Rivers states.
Also in the list is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi (Delta-North).
Nwaoboshi was said to have handled 53 projects, which included emergency repairs of Asue Street, Owa Phase 2; ldumuogbe Road via Ojemaye; Otolokpo College Road, Otolokpo; and the Police lshu Ani Ukwu Road, Issele Uku.
Other lawmakers in the list are Senator Matthew Urhoghide (Edo-South), six; James Manager (Delta-South), six and Samuel Anyanwu (Imo-West, 8th Senate), 19.
The list, however failed to show the value of the contract or what percentage of the NDDC projects the contracts represent.
Akpabio had caused uproar in the country last week when he accused National Assembly members of hijacking 60 percent of the NDDC contracts.
