There has been varying reactions since the news of President Buhari’s seeming intention to probe his late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, was made public.
Guardian on Sunday reported that there are indications that President Buhari has given his nod for a probe of the activities of his late Chief of Staff.
The report has it that President Buhari has directed the current Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari to cancel about 150 appointments and approvals done by Mr Kyari which were without the President’s notice.
The story came as rude shock to many Nigerians who wondered where the late Chief of Staff got the power to fix such appointments without getting an express approval from his principal.
Jackson Ude, former Director of Strategy/Communication under former President Goodluck while reacting to the development, asked: “How can Abba Kyari alone approve over 150 memos without Buhari’s knowledge?”
“Now the new Chief of Staff has been asked by Buhari to cancel all such memos. With this, those who got illegal memos from Kyari Better start running away now,” he concluded.
