President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Senator Magnus Abe as one of the members of the newly reconstituted Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)
The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina made this disclosure in a statement put out early Saturday morning.
Adesina said that the new NNPC board was reconstituted after the expiration of the term of the board members appointed in 2016.
“Members of the new Board are: Mohammed Lawal (North West), Tajudeen Umar (North East), Adamu Mahmood Attah (North Central), Senator Magnus Abe (South South), Dr Stephen Dike (South East), and Chief Pius Akinyelure (South West).
“The new board will be in place for three years,” Adesina said.
Senator Abe has, before now, had a running battle with the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi over the control of the Rivers Chapter of the All Progressive Congress. The conflict culminated in the party not being able to present a candidate for the 2019 gubernatorial election in the state.
