The People’s Democratic Party has raised alarm over what it claimed is a desperate measure to hijack the runnings of the Edo State House of Assembly by the Federal Government.
The party, in a statement released Thursday morning, accused the federal government of mobilising the Police and other security agencies to take over the state legislature.

The party claimed that the APC-led FG is jittery over the growing popularity of its Governorship candidate and incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki but warned that such action “totally unacceptable”.
“Irked by the growing popularity of @GovernorObaseki of Edo state & overwhelming acceptance by his people, the @OfficialAPCNg led FG has mobilized @PoliceNG & other security agents to take over the state house of assembly. This is totally unacceptable,” the party tweeted.
