BREAKING: Magu requests for bail on self-recognizance

Embattled Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has written to the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, requesting that he be released on bail after four days in detention.

Magu’s lawyer, Oluwatosin Ojaomo, in a letter dated July 10, 2020, requested Adamu to grant bail to his client on “self recognizance”.

Magu has been in detention after been summoned at the Presidential Villa to answer questions over allegations of corruption on Monday.

He has been subjected to questions by investigatetive panel headed by retired president of the Appeal Court, Ayo Salami.
