BREAKING: Ize-Iyamu suffers crushing defeat as INEC declares Obaseki winner of Edo Guber Election

The All Progressives Congress quest to stop Governor Godwin Obaseki from getting a second term in office has ended in a humiliating blow for its candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Obaseki winner against Ize-Iyamu, who was backed by the former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole.

Obaseki scored 307,955 votes to defeat his closest rival and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who garnered 223,619 votes.

This brings to an end the season of campaign hostility which has been characterised by heavy dose of tension and violence.
