The Minister for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has reportedly asked the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to end the Big Brother Naija TV reality show
The Cable reports that the Minister’s directive was over fears that the show might escalate cases of the coronavirus.
The owner of the show, MultiChoice Ltd, are said to have tried convincing the NBS that it secured the approval of the Lagos State Government having promised housemates and the organising crew will strictly obey all the safety protocols against COVID-19.

The show has been subject to varying degrees of criticisms over some of its contents adjudged to be below acceptable moral standard.
