President Muhammadu Buhari will decide on the next action on the contaiment of COVID-19 after his on-going meeting with the Presidential Task Force.
One of decisions the President will have to make after the meeting is whether to move to the next stage of easing the lockdown imposed on certain sectors or to re-impose another total local down as the country continues to record astronomical surge in its daily reported cases of the virus.
The Chairman of the Task Force and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, had last week said that fresh lockdown will be imposed on the country if it were up to him.
There have been reports of gross violations of social distancing guidelines and movement/travel restrictions imposed to contain the outbreak of the virus in the country.
Judging by its daily report in the last few months, the country may just be 24 hours away from hitting 25,000 mark, a record that will certainly bring some air of frustration to the government and its disease fighting agency, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
