President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with the former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting is believed to be over Okonjo-Iweala’s aspiration to become the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation.

The former Minister was led to the meeting with the President by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubair Dada; and the Minister of State, Industry Trade and Investment, Maryam Katagun.
Okonjo-Iwela, last week, made the top two in a contest which is expected to be fiercely contested.
The Nigerian Government has not hidden its intention to support Okonjo-Iwela’s candidacy and has been at the forefront of getting African Union to pull along same direction.
