Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and The National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) have threatened to order its pilots, both local and international, not to fly into the Rivers State even after the COVID-l9 crises.
NAAPE said this in reaction to the arrest and prosecution of two Caverton pilots by the Gov. Nyeson Wike led government on Tuesday.
The President of NAAPE, Galadima Abednego wondered why the pilots have been made to pass through such ordeals when indeed they were authorised by the designated authorities to fly the craft. He criticised the Rivers State governor for allowing its power tussle with the federal government to override national interest. Galadima then called for the immediate release of the pilots and apology by the state government.
