Public Policy expert, Dr Joe Abah has blamed the self-acclaimed military president, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida for the bad shape the country has found itself in.
The social critic, in a post on his Twitter handle said that IBB’s “Every man has a price” policy destroyed the country.
” People often ask “When did Nigeria go wrong?” My answer is: 27th August 1985. That was when “Every man has a price” became official Govt policy. That was when a self-styled “Evil Genius” proudly took the name of Maradona for his ability to deceive Nigerians. Let’s mark that date,” Abah wrote.
IBB, widely referred to as “evil genius” in Nigeria’s political arena, successfully executed a military coup to oust the then Head of State, Major General Muhammadu Buhari.
He took a spot in the bad book of Nigeria history with the annulment of the June 12 presidential elections reportedly won by M.K.O Abiola and widely believed to be the best elections conducted in the country’s history
