Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwu-Olu has joined his voice in the growing outrage by prominent Nigerians against the alleged the brutality of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
In his statement on Sunday morning, the governor reiterated that the safety of Lagosins was his primary duty as the Chief Security Officer of the state and will not be silent on the worrisome reports of SARS injustices by residents of the state.
He further assured that immediate actions will be taken to stop the numerous unlawful acts of the police unit.
“The safety of our residents is my number one duty as the CSO of Lagos. So, reading reports of seemingly unlawful exploitation by the people charged to protect is very worrying and needs to be addressed immediately. Be assured that appropriate actions will be taken, and speedily too,” he said.
Currently, Nigerians are trending the complete end to SARS operation in the country.
